I’m Gwen Zhang, a contemporary painter and mixed media artist drawn to the emotional language of texture, color, and atmosphere. My work moves between abstraction and memory, exploring how layered surfaces and shifting forms can evoke quiet emotional spaces and moments of reflection.

My artistic practice has been shaped through years of study and cross-cultural experience in both China and France. Working across painting and mixed media, I create compositions that balance expressive movement with subtle stillness — where gesture, light, and material interact in poetic and intuitive ways.

Over the years, my work has been exhibited internationally across Asia, Europe, and North America, including participation in major contemporary art exhibitions and curated biennials. Alongside my studio practice, I have also contributed to visual arts education through published teaching materials and long-term engagement in art instruction and color studies.

For me, painting is a process of discovering atmosphere and emotional resonance through material itself. I hope my work invites viewers into contemplative spaces shaped by texture, movement, and quiet depth.
