Collection: Dou Bu

Dou Pu is a visual artist whose practice has been shaped by experiences across Asia, Australia, and Canada. Working across several media, he examines the relationship between personal experience and the social environments in which people live.

His work returns to questions of cultural transition: what people carry with them, what changes in a new setting, and how a sense of belonging develops over time. He approaches identity as something shaped by place, memory, and daily life rather than as a fixed definition.

Experimentation is central to his process. Through materials, gesture, and spontaneous expression, he allows uncertainty and imperfection to remain visible in the work. Making becomes a way to work through experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
